Canine Myotherapy Treatment
Why is it important to understand the implications of secondary or compensatory issues?
Compensatory issues are those that occur after an injury, or part of a condition i.e. osteo-arthritis. They are created by the body isolating areas of pain to reduce stress to those affected area/s therefore adding stresses elsewhere. This can manifest itself by changing how your dog walks/runs and even jumps and potentially leading to massive problems by over stressing these areas too, leading to far reaching affects that may not become apparent for weeks, months or even years.
Whether the injury is serious or relatively minor, primary or secondary soft tissue damage should always be considered and treated.
