A lovely King Charles Cavalier called Toby, who had an unusual posture and increasing lameness, was referred to the Galen Therapy Centre in West Sussex by local vet Matt from the Arun Veterinary Group, when tests didn’t show an obvious cause.

Julia Robertson , Head Practitioner at the centre was able to pinpoint several regions causing discomfort for Toby, and through the use of gentle, safe and natural therapy was able to return him to good health.

His owner David Reaney says “His massage sessions always produced positive results, but the last few in particular had a remarkable effect upon Toby - he now sits, stands, walks and runs like a Cavalier should and enjoys life to the full.

It is always distressing when your pet is unwell, but in a very real sense it has been worth going through this in order to meet Julia, learn about the causes of muscular problems in dogs, how to prevent them and to take an active part in my dog’s treatment through the ‘homework’ set. It’s great to have my dog in excellent shape again and I am sincerely grateful to both Julia and Matt from the Arun practice – they were in constant communication with each other during Toby’s treatment to make sure that everything was the best it could be for him and this was so comforting and reassuring – animal care doesn’t come any better than this!”
