Cody the Irish Champion Australian Shepherd had suffered from intermittent lameness for well over 12 months. His handler was struggling to keep him sound and he was becoming more and more depressed due to the lack of exercise and constant discomfort.
Specialist Vets had advised that he should have total cage rest for at least 6 weeks, this would have sent him demented.
After seeing an article in Dog World about Galen Myotherapy his handler decided as a last resort to try it out and what a result! Within a couple of sessions Cody was a different dog in both his movement and temperament.
He now sees his therapist on a regular basis and with the techniques taught his handler is delighted that as a combined team they can keep him in tip top condition – without pain.
Cody now runs around with the other Aussies and is back to being his normal lunatic self with no signs of lameness. He is also back to his winning ways in the show ring, winning several Best of Breeds and Group Wins at Open Shows.
Without the Myotherapy treatment Cody would have had to have been retired from the show ring, where good conformation is everything in his breed and his future would not have been so as it is has now.
“I would recommend Myotherapy to anyone whose dog is suffering from any type of muscle or soft tissue problems, the only problem you may have is that the rest of your dogs may demand to be massaged too. Mine do!”
