Having been brought up on a working farm in Kent, Caroline has always had a love for animals and a special affinity with them. Although her background is in human health care, she has always regretted not following a vocation involving animals.

Maintaining a keen interest in the welfare of animals, particularly dogs, she obtained The Certificate in Pet Dog Ownership in 1999, studied Canine Psychology and Anatomy & Physiology of Cats and Dogs before joining Galen as a student on Canine Massage Diploma course, which she graduated from in September 2006.

By completing her Diploma she finally had the opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the animals in a professional capacity.

Currently the owner of two “rescue” dogs herself, Caroline is an ardent supporter of dog rescue and re-homing centers in her area. She feels that massage has the potential to be of great benefit to dogs that often through no fault of their own, suddenly find themselves in the alien and stressful environment of rescue centers. Dogs that have been physically abused and wont let anyone near them, dogs that are lonely and frightened or those suffering from ‘kennel stress’, could all greatly benefit from massage therapy.

Caroline is working to specialise in the musculoskeletal problems of large breed dogs, as having owned German Shepherd Dogs for the past 15 years, she is well aware of the health conditions to which large breeds can be predisposed. Hip dysplasia, OCD and Osteoarthritis being conditions that hold a special interest.
