Galen Myotherapy® works on the dog’s muscular system where issues are an extremely common and underestimated cause of pain. These issues can manifest themselves in many different ways. The pain can cause stress that will have a negative effect on how the dog’s body functions. It can also effect behaviour causing them to be more reclusive, less confident, maybe even more defensive with other dogs, or just ‘not right’.
Galen Myotherapy® influences muscle function by promoting improved muscle fibre health. This is achieved through easing congestion within the fibres, caused through injury, compensatory or repetitive strain issues, allowing the muscle or muscle groups to function fully. Injury and muscle fibre damage can cause shortening within the muscle, which will also cause stress over the joints they articulate. By easing muscle function and length, joint function is improved and optimum ‘range of movement’ achieved, resulting in improved mobility, performance also reduced pain perception especially when there is an issue within the vertebrae of the back.
