Introduction to Canine Massage Workshop with Julia Robertson
Enhance your dog’s health through a greater understanding! This workshop was the first of its type back in 2003 and has now been presented all over the world.
The workshop has evolved over the last 15 years in line with changing and developing knowledge and experience. It is always in great demand so book early to get the date and location that most suits you! There are both practical and theory sessions and is intended to introduce both handler and their dogs to the benefits of massage. It is primarily for those who have no massage experience or knowledge of animal anatomy.
The course will be held at Rawson Hall, The Street, Bolney, West Sussex, RH17 5PF, and will start at 10am, finishing around 4.30pm

Canine Functional Anatomy (CPD)
About this workshop
Expand your learning of functional anatomy with this one day workshop aimed at people who want to further their understanding of the canine musculoskeletal system. This course is ideal for canine massage practitioners, hydrotherapists, vet nurses and students who want to consolidate their existing knowledge. The course is limited to 10 places to ensure individual attention.
We will discuss canine muscle placement, the function of each muscle, outlining the origin and insertion. Along with hands on identification on a variety of dogs. At the end of the workshop you will be given an exclusive functional anatomy video talking you through where muscles are located on a dog with an overview of their function.
The day includes:
- Identify superficial ‘bony’ landmarks on a skeleton and on a variety of dogs
- Discuss the skeletal structure of the dog in association with muscle placement
- Recognise muscle origins and insertions
- Apply hands on identification of main muscular groups on a variety of dogs
- Examine muscular function
- How to assess basic muscular health in correlation with functional anatomy
- Recognise the role of the kinetic chain
