Galen Myotherapy basically manages conditions, in other words it treats the effects of conditions. Therefore, if your dog is lame through a condition such as spondylitis, we will be treating the ‘adaptive change’ caused by your dog trying to avoid using painful parts of his body therefore overloading other parts. This overloading and adaptive or compensatory change can cause huge amounts of pain and have a massively negative effect on your dog’s quality of life.
Other conditions include;
- Hip/elbow dysplasia
- After trauma, for example road traffic collision or a fall
- After an impaling accident these types of accidents can cause terrible whiplash injuries that only become apparent after a few months
- Behavioural changes, for example licking or chewing feet of other parts of the body.
- If your dog appears older than his years, is just unhappy or other symptoms veterinary investigation cannot find a reason for.
